Visual artist Véronique Malo is interested in the gestures and traces of everyday life. The exhibition Landscapes Between Our Bodies, held from October 5, 2019, to January 5, 2020, at the Musée d’art de Joliette, brings together photographic works shaped by chance, the unexpected, wonder, and the poetry she drew from images received through an open call for photographs. She chose to retain only the voids—the spaces between bodies—in order to create new abstract configurations that make the invisible tangible.

To further this research, the exhibition is complemented by a postcard booklet featuring previously unseen works accompanied by poems by Olivier Lussier, Stéphanie Roussel, Sébastien Sauvageau, Hugo Bourdelais, Frédéric Généreux, Tanya Millette, and Claire-Hélène Piuze. The booklet comes in a limited-edition boxed set of 150 copies, including a collection of 12 poetic photographs and an 8-page booklet. The foreword is written by the exhibition’s curator, Anne-Marie St-Jean Aubre.

The booklet was co-produced by Véronique Malo and the publishing Maison d’édition Bouc. The project was carried out with the support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
