Walking alone also has enormous spiritual, cultural and political resonance. It has been a major part of meditation, prayer, and religious exploration. It has been a mode of contemplation and composition, from Aristotle’s peripatetics to the roaming poets of New York and Paris. - Rebecca Solnit

An exhibition with the master students from Valand School of Fine Arts at Göteborgs Stadsmuseum. Vernissage 4th of April 2009
For this exhibition, I am presenting a sound piece that reflects the mass of sounds that constitutes the city museum of Göteborg, as a sound object and a compositional soundscape. Between suspended moments in time and displacement, I see pace and rhythms: the angles and corners, architecture and social behaviors.

Teatergatan piece

On a Monday night in December 2008, Véronique Malo and Martin Heuser witnessed a disturbing event at Teatergatan (Theater Street), outside Valand School of Fine Arts, where both were studying. A girl screamed and screamed and they thought those could be sounds from a rape. Once outside, those sounds of screams were pretty much like drunk laughter and joking after a party. Hours after the event they came to realize that the girl might have been drugged. In a conversatino one month later, Martin and Veronique got to know that they had experienced the same scene. Their parallel stories are succinctly told in double sided which are distributed outside nightclubs around Teatergatan.
